Rainbow Trust Foundation Launches “Education and Sports” Programme at Lucky Mensah Football Academy

The Rainbow Trust Foundation (RTF), in partnership with Book Aid International, UK, has launched a new flagship initiative, Education and Sports, aimed at strengthening literacy and educational development among young athletes. The inaugural event took place at the Lucky Mensah Football Academy on Sunday, December 14, 2025.

The programme seeks to integrate education into youth sports development by equipping juvenile athletes with essential literacy skills while they pursue their athletic careers. The initial phase of the initiative is focused on the football community, with plans to expand to other sports disciplines in the coming months.

As part of the launch activities, RTF announced plans to provide library management training for coaches and groundsmen at the academy. The training is intended to enable them to better support the academic growth of the athletes and ensure the effective use and sustainability of learning resources.

The event also featured the donation of books, learning materials, and library shelves to the academy. The donation exercise was led by Nana Akosua Agyapomaa Asare, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Rainbow Trust Foundation and Nkosuohemaa for the Oseawuo Division of Okyeman, highlighting her commitment to promoting holistic youth development through education and sports.

Organisers say the Education and Sports programme reflects a growing recognition of the need to balance academic learning with athletic training, ensuring that young talents are well prepared for life both on and off the field.
