Because Poverty Still Keeps Too Many Children Out of the Classroom
For decades, poverty alleviation has been a central theme in the development plans of countries across the world. Yet, despite international commitments—like the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), which aimed to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger by 2015—millions of children in Ghana still experience the harsh realities of deprivation every day.
As a nation, Ghana embraced the MDGs through the implementation of various social intervention programs such as PAMSCAD, LEAP, NHIS, Capitation Grants, the School Feeding Programme, and Free Maternal Care. While these initiatives have made progress, the impact remains uneven—and, in many cases, painfully insufficient.

What struck me most was that these conditions weren’t limited to remote rural areas. They were common even in public schools in urban and peri-urban communities like Lashibi, Klagon, Kotobabi, Adjei Kojo, Ashaiman, and Sakumono Village—areas situated in and around the Tema Metropolis. It left me wondering: If this is the state of children in so-called prime locations, what then is the fate of those in our rural and marginalized communities?

Why We Exist
In response to these painful realities, I began offering help in small ways—donating supplies, coordinating with fellow teachers to support students in need. Time and again, even our modest gestures proved to be lifelines. But I realized we needed to do more. We needed to be louder, broader, and more coordinated in our response. That calling led to the creation of Rainbow Trust Foundation—a platform to amplify the voices of vulnerable children, to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity, and to bring hope where it's needed most.

Why Choose Rainbow Trust Foundation?
We’re born from real, lived experience—not distant policy. We work in communities that are often overlooked. We combine education, compassion, and local knowledge to meet urgent needs. We see every child not as a statistic, but as a future leader. If you believe in a Ghana where no child is left behind, we invite you to stand with us. Let’s put books in their hands, smiles on their faces, and hope in their hearts.
